Welcome to TCM Time! My name is Kathy Yang and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to help people attain health and balance—spiritually, mentally and physically.

I have been practicing Chinese martial arts, Tai Chi, and Qigong for over three decades. I began training at the age of six under the guidance of my father Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming.

Martial Arts

As an active competitor, I have been awarded on several occasions the Grand Champion title in both internal and external Chinese martial arts from renowned US tournaments such as:

  • Tiger Claw Elite Championship (Kung Fu Magazine)
  • International Chinese Martial Arts Championship (ICMAC)
  • USA Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF)
  • A Taste of China USA All-Taijiquan Tournament

Chinese Medicine and Exercise Physiology

I received my Master’s degree with distinction in Chinese Medicine from Middlesex University in London, UK with a joint Bachelor of Medicine degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. I also hold my BSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Boston University and was honored with the Scarlet Key Award, one of the University’s highest academic honors.

I bring a wide range of clinical experience and knowledge working in a Beijing hospital and in neuroscience research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.

I have taught at the New England School of Acupuncture at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University) and in other locations around the United States, South America and Europe.

I created TCM Time as a resource for you to discover Chinese medicine through videos, online classes, blog posts, podcast, and much more. With this platform I will introduce you to some of my favorite topics such as:
